How WebVitalsDev handles corrections

A correction should make the accurate information and the reason for the change clear.

Updated

Report a specific error

Email [email protected] with the page URL, the passage or example concerned and the correction you believe is needed. Include an official source or reproducible technical explanation where possible. Identify relevant software versions, browser behavior and the date of any changed guidance.

Do not send credentials, private logs or sensitive user data. If a public example cannot demonstrate the issue safely, explain the problem without exposing the private system.

Review and resolution

Reported errors are checked against the evidence and the article's stated scope. A difference caused by another version or configuration may require a clarification rather than the removal of otherwise accurate guidance. Unresolved evidence is not presented as certainty.

If a material error is confirmed, the affected text is corrected and a note at the end of the article explains the material change. The updated date reflects the substantive revision. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a separate correction note.

A shared technical error can affect more than one guide, a tool explanation or several language editions. The review should identify those dependencies so the correction does not leave contradictory advice elsewhere on the site.

A correction request does not guarantee that the proposed wording will be used. The aim is accurate, understandable content supported by evidence. The fact-checking policy describes the source standards used in that assessment.
